There are so many machines for you to now do your own diagnostic testing and its usually not far off of what the problem is but…….
So we started a little test and decided to buy a few cheaper diagnostic machines and give them a run for their money. We found that in 9 out of 10 cases although the machines were fairly close to what the problems with the vehicle were they were not able to pinpoint with absolute accuracy.
If it was someone that had purchased the machine with little or no mechanical issues we know that it may have led to installing parts that may not have been needed. In fact in 1 recent job we did a customer had spent nearly £2000-00 replacing parts that his Ebay machine had diagnosed as the problem. Once we had done our test we were able to pinpoint that the issue was a fairly simple brake light switch. The customer had replaced light cages, battery, fuses and was about to replace the ECU so you can imagine hos stressful this must have been. A diagnostic test and £24-00 part later and he was back on the road with no issues.
Whatever the issues are its always best to use the right equipment to diagnose your vehicles issues. Whether a car, van, motorboke or other we can generally get you an answer quickly and professionally.
